KELLY SIX, CF – L2
After college, Kelly’s primary form of fitness was running, but something was missing. Kelly first learned about CrossFit after seeing a portion of the 2011 CrossFit Games on television. When a commercial prompted her to “Find a Box Nearby,” she knew she wanted to, but didn’t think she’d find one in Roanoke, Virginia. In January 2012, a former co-worker invited her to try out Roanoke Valley CrossFit and she was hooked from there.
She had missed having a group to work out with, the competitive nature, and the nervousness that set in when preparing for a game. Crossfit replicated all of this. Her love for CrossFit grew after competing in several competitions and she started to take interest in coaching others. Kelly completed her CF-L1 in June 2014 and started coaching shortly thereafter.Kelly’s favorite part about coaching is seeing the focus that each person puts into learning a specific movement. Even though CrossFit is constantly varied, each person is attracted to certain movements more than others and she loves seeing someone make the extra effort to improve and conquer a movement he/she is focused on.
